I paint those precious moments.
I start from an old photograph, touched by something true I can read in there. Then I paint my interpretation of the moments emotional content. And my remembrance of its sensory impressions: the smells, the sounds, the temperature, the mood of the instant.
So I take all these moments I see, moments that are on the verge to be forgotten, and take care of them by highlighting their uniqueness and what made them important for me.
If the viewer can capture that in my finished painting, this instant lives on.
